“What stories do these boats carry?”
That was the provocation we posed when creating the teaser for Pssica, the new Netflix series from the same producers of City of God, directed by Quico Meirelles and Fernando Meirelles. A 100% Brazilian production that tells some very powerful stories happening in Pará.
Janalice, Aninha, Princesa, Kassiane... in Pssica, the boats bearing women’s names are the very ones that carry them toward their darkest destinies. We brought this message to life with different typefaces created by local artists—names of boats that, ironically, are also used in human trafficking, just like Janalice in the series.
Definitely worth watching.
